Did Research For Rec Center include the disclosure that a Park Might be Destroyed?
At June 1st’s RCC and RA Joint task force meeting, Brailsford & Dunlavey, a firm that develops community rec centers, presented their “needs assessment research”. After the meeting the RCC and RA board members were given the opportunity to ask the Brailsford & Dunlavey presenters some questions. The community was not offered the ability to ask questions of the presentors or the RCC or RA board members at this time. In this video, Joe Leighton, an RA board member, ask if Brailsford & Dunlavey’s study considered the reduction of outdoor space, ie, did the participatents who were questioned in the study (the swimmers and tennis groups) know that the creation of this rec center might include the destruction of existing open space, like the Brown’s Chapel Park?
