Tell Fairfax Connector What You Think of Reston Bus System
Saturday, Aug. 8
10 a.m. – noon
North County Governmental Center Community Room
12000 Bowman Towne Drive, Reston
Fairfax Connector is in the process of evaluating the routing and schedules of the Reston Internal Bus System (RIBS) service. The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will hold a public meeting to gather information from existing passengers and residents in the neighborhoods. FCDOT will use this information to develop a bus service plan that will address the needs expressed by passengers and residents. A follow-up meeting will be held later this fall once decisions have been made regarding what changes, if any, will occur to the RIBS network.
Residents can travel to the North County Governmental Center via the RIBS 1, 3 and 4 routes.
Attendees wishing to speak at the meeting can sign up in advance by calling Kathryn Rogers at 703-877-5637, TTY 711 or can sign up at the beginning of the meeting.
For more information about this item, visit www.fairfaxconnector.com or call Ellen Kamilakis at 703-877-5606, TTY 711.
New Program Collects Old American Flags
What can you do when your “old glory” loses its glory? Thanks to a new program approved by the Reston Association Board of Directors, you can now drop off your old U.S. flags at the Association for a proper disposal.
The program is for American flags only. They must be dry, free of mold or debris. They can be tattered, torn, faded or damaged.
Reston Association has teamed with American Legion Post 180 in Vienna, which will destroy the worn flags in public tribute ceremonies scheduled a couple of times a year.
You will find specially marked receptacles at both the Reston Association member services office at 1930 Isaac Newton Square and at the central services facility. It is located at 12250 Sunset Hills Drive. If you have questions, please call 703 435-6530.
