When the corporate volunteers in Reston don their work gloves on Friday June 5, 2009, they will be joining 40,000 of their co-workers in community services projects across the United States. The 80 Deloitte LLP employees are taking part in the company’s IMPACT Day, a celebration of Deloitte’s commitment to workplace volunteering. Around the country, company volunteers will donate to 700 community service projects in more than 70 communities.
In Reston, approximately 80 Deloitte employees will be working with Reston Association environmental staff to remove invasive exotic plants inside the Old Trail Drive horseshoe by Glade Pool. This is the second year that Deloitte LLP has worked on environmental projects in Reston. Last year, volunteers conducted a similar effort in Brown’s Chapel.
The firm was recognized as one of two 2008 Corporate Sponsors of the year during the Reston Association Annual Meeting in April 2009.
