Virginia Bluebells in Colorado
My back fence neighbor, Cathy Lee, moved away years ago to Colorado. Friday she went for a hike in the Rockies in a place called Winter Park, above the snow line. Here is a photo of Virginia bluebells next to the columbine and Indian paintbrush in the high meadow. And here is a poem I wrote about my favorite Virginia wildflower, the wood poppy, also known as celandine, early in July.
Celandine in the Sun
There’s one moment in the morning
where the light and the breath meet
and time becomes irrelevent
with the passage of heart.
